- There are many things in the home and office one could use to remove general carpet stains. Stir one teaspoon of liquid dish detergent into a quarter of warm water. Add ¼ teaspoon of white vinegar. You should allow the solution to sink in for 10 mins before blotting. Another solution is using one part white vinegar and two parts water. This ingredient can be stored.
