- Simple but very helpful
- If you live in a two-story house, then keep double the cleaning equipment. This saves time and eliminates the burden of carrying heavy buckets up and down stairs.
- Handy vinegar
- White vinegar can be used as a cheap solution to cleaning windows and mirrors.
- Coffee stains on upholstery
- Clean with a solution made from dish detergent, vinegar and water. Mix 3 parts water, 1 part vinegar and 1 part detergent. Blot the stain.
- Nail polish stains
- try sponging the spot gently with a non-oily acetone nail polish remover. Blot with a clean white rag.
- Red wine stains
- Sponge the stain with club soda or white wine. Shaving cream from a can, can also help, but ensure you do not allow the material to get too wet.
- Marker in a carpet
- To get rid of an ugly permanent marker stain, you must first vacuum the area to get rid of loose dirt or dust. Try using alcohol or a non-oily hairspray as a removing agent. Apply a small amount at a time and blot. If you are unable to remove the stain, an alternative is to snip away the stained edges and use tweezers to pull out the harshly stained fibers.
