Top tips on how to get the best out of your floor:
- Bathroom floor
- To remove mould and mildew, clean with a dilute solution of chlorine bleach in water. Spray or sponge it on, after waiting for a few minutes rinse with clear water
- Lounge floor
- To repair a cigarette burn in your carpet, snip away the singed edges with little scissors or a razor blade. Use tweezers to pluck out the severely singed fibers. Apply glue to the burned area, and press clean fibers into the spot. Place a heavy object on the region for a few days to hold it down.
- Dining floor
- To remove a soft drink stain from your carpet, mix 1 teaspoon liquid dishwashing detergent with 1 cup of lukewarm water. Then add 1 tablespoon of ammonia in /2 cup of water. Blot dry.
- Brick floor
- The best way to care for a brick floor is to keep it sealed and waxed. Also by damp-mopping it after vacuuming , you can help to prevent dirt from building up. Also you could use a solvent-base wax. The wax dissolves, so there is no build up.
- Flagstone and slate floors
- The best way to clean and care for such a floor is to seal it with a commercial sealer. Also when mopping, wring out the water so it doesn't drip and apply to the floor in slow, even strokes.
